Two more ladies to travel with

Good Morning!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post!

We have truly been busy both on the road and visitng with many relatives. The first news is.... we are safe and sound in Wamego! If you were watching the news, you may have heard of tornados in Kansas City. We were the opposite of storm chasers. As the tornados rolled into the Kansas City area, we were driving out. We were driving, caravan style, into Ginger's hometown. She was in her van with her nephews Dave and Mike and her sister Marilyn. Ginger's neice Janet Kay drove Marilyn's Cadillac and I drove Mike's car. That gave the "boys" plenty of time to reminice with their aunties. We went to the local cemetary in pouring rain and drove around the town remembering the "good old days" and making new memories as well. The visit was cut somewhat short because of the K.C. storms. Mike was worried about the hail on his car business as well as how his family was doing... and Dave had just moved and had concerns about his property as well!!

Today's plans include a new shop in town that only has purses and jewelry, a pottery shop, and, of course, the OZ museum. We are supposed to go to Manhattan, but we will wait and see how Ginger is doing.

Dinner with Brett and the boys

Hello again!

Brett picked up Ginger and I about 4 p.m. yesterday and we got the grand tour of Flagstaff. With Cam and I in the back seat, we got to see a couple of the city's most beautiful parks and an observatory off the beaten track. Cam was an excellent tour guide as he has taken a few field trips in the area in his school experiences and had a great chance to show off his knowledge of the area to his great aunt Ginger. I think his dad was a little impressed too. :)
We also drove by the place where Brett works and where Anissa now lives before we went to Bretts HUGE home with magnificent views. There are plenty of windows everywhere to show off the mountainous regions that surround his place... absolutely lovely! I can see why he settled in this area. The dinner was ready when we got there because Brett had the pot roast cooking to perfection in the crock pot all day. It was delicious and the conversation lasted until Ginger looked a little weary and then Brett drove us back to the hotel.
By the way, Jim got us set up in a great place here just as he has all along the way. There is a young fellow named Kyle that works at the desk who gave us adjoining rooms.... one extra room for one extra night at no extra charge. When he found out that Ginger needed a roll in shower, he
made sure that she got it. Fantastic!! Life is good!
We are looking forward to tonight's show with the boys' bands with much anticipation!!

Hell0 all!
I have made several attempts thus far to make this blogging thing work, and hopefully this one is the ticket...
We have been traveling together wonderfully well thus far and having a marvelous time everywhere we went. We are currently in our third hotel, finding the different definitions of "handicap accessibility". Sometimes it means a full sized tub and toddler sized toilet, and sometimes a roll in shower and beautifully adequate sink space and always accomodating adults and kindness. And, of course, Ginger faces all challenges with her cheerful sense of humor and never ending patience and fun personality. On to the next adventure!
Mike and Gina's home is both comfortable and grand in size. We felt well cared for and entertained by those sweet kiddos. Mike is an expert with the outdoor grill and Gina has taught Gracie to be a wonderful hostess. Cheese and crackers, anyone?
Sedona is everything Jim said it would be. Retail therapy for anyones stresses..... massage, pool, and fabulous food at every turn. I could have easily stayed a week. Except it is the most expensive place I have ever been...wow.
Today we arrived in Flagstaff and Brett will arrive soon. More to follow. Cheers!
